Treasure

Treasure is more than coin. This chapter covers the goods a party can find, sell, and trade: furs, gems, jewelry, and art. All values are in silver pennies (sp).

Carrying Treasure

Treasure is carried in one of three ways:

  • Fits. It goes in a container like any other item.
  • Lashed. It's too big for a container, but can be lashed to a pack.
  • Bulky. It can't go in a container or be lashed to one. Carry it in both hands, carry it on your back in place of a pack, or load it on a mount or vehicle.

As a rule of thumb, anything up to about 2 lb fits, anything up to about 20 lb can be lashed, and anything heavier is Bulky. Cloth that can be rolled is lashed up to about 6 square yards; larger pieces are Bulky. Panels and stained glass can't be rolled.

Gems, and most jewelry, add no weight. A piece of jewelry weighing over 1 lb is a Light item; this is mostly crowns, and torcs and coronets of gold or platinum. Plate and objects are Light items, except a nef, which is Moderate.
