Dwarf
He steadies himself behind his shield, lifting it to catch the arrows coming at him. He forged the steel himself, and knows that it will hold. Hear the last of the volley, plink away harmlessly, he twirls the fail, using the momentum to bash the first charging orc in the skull, the momentum carrying into the second and third. The steel would hold.
He is a dwarf. A stout warrior of myth and legend, considered to be one of the mightiest warriors that walks. He has no use for magic, except for that which he imbues the weapons and armors he crafts. He is part of a unique people, separate from humanity, but ancient and renown for their craftsmanship and relentless ferocity in battle.

Dwarf Experience Table
Experience. When this number of Experience Points have been earned, you automatically move up to the next Level of Experience.
Title. You should use this title when talking with other characters. Instead of saying "I'm Rolf, a Fifth Level Dwarven Fighter," you should say "I'm Rolf, the Delver."
Health. You gain 4 health per 3 levels of experience in addition to any health gained from your endurance.
Skills. At first level, you begin with 3 Skill Mastery points, which must be spent immediately on Skills. You may use these points to advance Skills to Untrained mastery, but no further at this level.
- As a Dwarf, you can learn the following skills: Alertness, Athletics, Trade (Alchemist, Healer), Lore, Presence, Stealth, Tactics, Thievery, and Wilderness skills.
- You learn Trade (Blacksmith) as part of the Craftsman class ability for free.
- You gain 1 Skill Mastery point per level. At level 11, this increases to 2 points per level. At level 21, this increases to 3 points per level.
Spell Mastery. This class does not have access to magic.
Weapon Mastery. At first level, you begin with 4 Weapon Mastery points, which must be spent immediately on Weapon Types or Combat Styles. You may use these points to advance Weapon Types and Combat Styles to Untrained mastery, but no further at this level.
- You gain 1 Weapon Mastery point per level. At level 6, this increases to 2 points per level. At level 16, this increases to 3 points per level. At level 26, this increases to 4 points per level.
- Starting at level 2, each time you invest a point into a Weapon Type, you can invest one point for free into a Combat Style of your choice.
- You can obtain Grand Master mastery with a dwarf.
Leveled Abilities
You gain abilities below as you increase level.
Primordial
As a Primordial Stone being, you are immune to Stone damage and have Impotence on trials to resist Sky damage. You are connected to the Stone magic form. Only Stone magic can Charm, Control, summon, or banish you, or restore your mind (see Magic Mastery, Connected Form). All other magic affects you normally.
Master Craftsman
Armor Lore. Your attacks ignore a number of points of your target's armor resistance equal to your Perception tier, up to the armor's base resistance value for that damage type.
Blacksmithing. You automatically advance in the Trade (Blacksmith) Skill Mastery. You begin with Untrained Mastery, gain Basic Mastery at level 3, Skilled Mastery at level 6, gain Expert Mastery at level 10, Master Mastery at level 15, and Grand Mastery at level 21. These skills do not count against your Skill Mastery points.
Destiny Creation. You gain the ability to make a Destiny Creation, although many dwarves continue to acquire knowledge, skills, and materials before actually making their creation.
A Destiny Creation is the defining creation of your existence, a magical item that contains all of the knowledge and skill you have obtained. As you design and consider your Destiny Creation, keep in mind that larger items are more costly and time-consuming. Expect a suit of plate armor to be vastly more expensive than a simple dagger or longsword.
Materials. This item can only be created using special materials you have collected during your lifetime. Purchased materials or other items that you attempt to include in the creation process may either cause the creation to be ruined or are simply destroyed in the process. However, the following items can be used in the creation:
- Heirlooms or ancestral gifts.
- Specialty metals, such as Mithril, personally mined or taken while adventuring.
- Magical components, such as scrolls or potions, taken while adventuring.
- Skin, blood, bones, or organs from magical beasts you have defeated.
Cost. There is still an enchantment cost that you must provide. While the materials must be personally won, there are numerous components essential to your base enchantment that must be purchased.
Time. When you begin working on your Destiny Creation, a feverish intensity overtakes you and you may not rest until it is finished. The process of creating this item is only 1/4 of the normal time, often spanning several weeks or more than a month.
You may work a number of days equal to your Endurance tier without cost. Each additional day beyond this drains your Endurance score by 1, potentially reducing your Endurance tier and die as the creation demands more than you can comfortably give.
Final Product. At the end of the enchantment process, a final d100 roll is made to determine if your Destiny Creation was successful, modified by the materials, spells, and other factors. A particularly good roll might indicate a supreme creation of unique quality while a particularly bad roll may not always indicate failure, but rather a malformation of the intended outcomes as determined by the GM.
Dwarf Lineage
Apatheia. You have Dominance on trials against Demoralized, Charmed, and Controlled conditions.
Scotopic Sight. Within 200 feet, creatures in ambient light are not Concealed from you. Within 20 feet, creatures in absolute darkness are not Concealed from you, though you see them only in grayscale. While you are in light, you lose the benefit in absolute darkness.
Unshakable. When you take durability or health damage from an attack that explodes, the attacker's next attack against you has Inferiority.
