History, Faith, Technology, Magic
The gods built Dheghom as a sanctum for their mortal creations, sealing themselves within to form a covenant of faith. Time has turned their sanctum into a prison. Where faith was once a golden thread that bound the gods to their creations, time has turned it into a noose that has been drawn taut by the weight of restless, trudging mortality.
With each millennia, the walls of the prison crack, the noose of faith tightens, and mortals march on, blind and desperate, toward their own undoing. Time is the gallows that waits for all.
